The Series B round comes from prior backers Inventure and Nexit Ventures, and new investor Finnish Industry Investment.

Rightware’s embedded user interface software suite is already in use by car manufacturers like Audi, and supported by leading chip companies such as Freescale Semiconductor.

With the fresh capital infusion, Rightware says it wants to start addressing new and emerging markets such as the entertainment, mobile, tablet, smart TVs and other embedded verticals.

Aside from Kanzi UI, its product portfolio includes the Basemark product family for various industry-standard benchmarking purposes, including for Android, Linux, and Windows Mobile performance measurement.
